About Rose Paradise
Rose Wellington, owner and founder ofParadise Productions and Rose Paradise Salon is an active member of Chicago's steppin community dating back to the times of the Bop, the Dungeon, Chic Ric's, the Copperbox, quarter parties and waist line parties.
Rose recall earlier times, when she hosted quarter parties in her basement. She also recall one of her most special moments as a business woman when she made $75.00 in profits from her 2nd quarter party that made her feel as she say, "like I was rich."
Rose continues, " I remember the days of the Dungeon when walkers and boppers dominated the dance floor, motivating me to make frequent visits to places like the Copperbox 2, Mr, Ricky's 1 and 2 and other hot spots that catered to Chicago's Steppers Community back in the day."

However, Rose passion for steppin was not her primary ambition. She primarily dreamed of attending beauty school to obtain a license in cosmotology and actually left the steppers scene long enough to attend beauty school and obtain a cosmotology license which enabled her to accomplish her dream and shortly afterwards launch her first business venture with the opening of Rose Paradise Salon, a venture that proved to be beneficial, operating for the past 26 years.
In 1991, Rose returned to the steppers scene with greater passion and as a businesswoman, teaming up with business partner Gregg, starting Paradise Productions, a non for profit organization. They hosted monthly stepppers events every 4th Saturday of the month at the fabulous Mr. G's and donated portions of Paradise Productions profits to the Christian Ministires Homeless Shelter., a charitable act that Rose and Paradise Productions continue to provide to the shelter with the help of her supporters.
Rose prides herself on her accomplishments as founder and owner of Paradise Productions and Rose Paradise Salon, but her family, two daughters ( Jasmine & Barbera) and 3 grandchildren are the motivating forces behind her energy and dedication to all aspects of life. She also accredit the steppers who support her and attend her events that make it possible to continue her charitable donations to the shelter.
Rose Wellington says, " I appreciate all the steppers who attend Paradise Productions events each 4th Saturday of the month and I make it a duty to support all steppers new school and old school. Though I am an old school stepper with strong roots in the earlier years, I appecite the new schoolers because they are the torches that will light the fire behind this culture in the near future. This is why I make it a habit to try to attend everyone event and treat everyone with the same RESPECT."
